I have recently had the pleasure of working for N2 Applied in the gorgeous county of Buckinghamshire. N2 Applied has developed a new technology – a plasma unit that decarbonises dairy farming. It uses electricity, air, and slurry to fix nitrogen from the atmosphere and fix it into slurry. The unit treats slurry to eliminate methane, reduce ammonia emissions and increases the nutrient content of slurry, which vastly reduces the carbon footprint of dairy farming.
In summary this is a real solution for the UK’s net zero targets and for society to gain better air quality.
I had a couple of days at the farm where the installation was, first shooting images from the ground, and then a second day with the drone. The drone day was quite exciting as I got to have a few rides in a tractor. I know, simple things!
